LawBreakers Developer Unveils Battle Royale Game Radical Heights

PUBG CHINA

"Only in Radical Heights does in-game cash you find carry over into future matches", reads a statement from Boss Key games.

The twist on the Battle Royale formula comes in two major new features. "Fortnite" is free-to-play and features cosmetic items for sale in-game as well as a Founder's Pack.

Earlier this year, Nexon wrote off Boss Key's LawBreakers shooter, blaming PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds in the process for why the game failed to attract any attention.

The developer behind LawBreakers has announced it'll launch its latest title, battle royale game Radical Heights, on Steam's Early Access tomorrow.

It's key difference when compared to other games in the genre is that Radical Heights will make more use of vehicles. Yet here is Boss Key with Radical Heights, an early access Battle Royale title with a distinct 1980s-inspired flair. Players will be able to horde and spend their cash as they please, which does possibly present some balancing issues. This comes after Lawbreaker's publisher Nexon blamed PUBG as the main reason why the FPS game didn't manage to find an audience. The only way you'll ever enter a match with an advantage over other players is if you have in-game cash in your ATM which, again, is only earned by playing matches. It doesn't look like Radical Heights has any building systems a la Fortnite, but instead offers goofy deployable gadgets like "workout trampolines to confetti bombs, inflatable decoys to remote explosives, and more".

The Steam page for the game reveals that it will be released into early access tomorrow, though this will be a very rough draft version of the game. Furthermore, numerous golf carts and ordinary cars can be seen dotted around the game's landscape, though it's possible they're just set dressing. Many gamers are already being cynical about Radical Heights. Boss Key says it would like to transition the game to free-to-play, but can't do so without more time, money, and publisher support.
