'Missiles are coming' - Trump warns of imminent military action Syria

President Donald Trump speaks during a meeting with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani in the Oval Office of the White House Tuesday

A similar assessment was delivered earlier today by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based war monitor, which said that pro-Syrian government forces were emptying main airports and military air bases. "His family is also now in Damascus with their people", the politician said.

The Kremlin spokesman has commented on President Donald Trump's tweet warning of an imminent missile strike on Syria by saying that Moscow doesn't engage in Twitter diplomacy. "It is not our way", Volodin said during an address to parliament in Moscow Wednesday, according to the Interfax news agency.

Trump said Wednesday that missiles "will be coming" in response to Syria's suspected chemical attack, adding "Get ready Russian Federation, because they will be coming, nice and new and 'smart!'".

Soon after the tweets, Russia's foreign ministry said that "smart missiles should fly towards terrorists, not legal government".

He blindsided the Pentagon and the State Department when he told the audience at a campaign rally in OH on March 30 that USA troops would be leaving Syria "very soon".

After meeting with senior military leaders, President Trump canceled a weekend trip to South America to remain at the White House as the U.S., Britain and France draw up plans for a high-stakes airstrike against Syria. Syria and its ally Russian Federation deny such an attack happened.

Donald Trump on Wednesday gave Russian Federation advance warning that missiles will be coming.

On Tuesday, Russia's ambassador to Lebanon said: "U.S. missiles fired at Syria would be shot down and the launch sites targeted".

"Is the whole idea to quickly remove the traces of the provocation ...(so) the worldwide inspectors will have nothing to look for in terms of evidence?" asked foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova in a Facebook post. "Two health facilities were also reportedly affected by these attacks". "And we will be working with our closest allies on how we can ensure that those who are responsible are held to account and how we can prevent and deter the humanitarian catastrophe that comes from the use of chemical weapons in the future".

The lawmaker recalled that he "has met with Assad several times, including in 2014, when the situation in Syria was much worse".

The US and its western allies are considering military action to punish Syrian President Bashar al-Assad for suspected poison gas attacks on rebel-held towns in the ongoing civil war.

It is the 12 occasion when Russian Federation used its veto power to prevent any action against Syrian ally.

State news agency RIA Novosti on Wednesday quoted Andrei Krasov, deputy chairman of the State Duma's defense committee, as saying that Russian Federation will treat a US airstrike on Syria "not just as an act of aggression but a war crime of the Western coalition".

"In the event of a threat to our military servicemen's lives, Russia's Armed Forces will take retaliatory measures to target both the missiles and their delivery vehicles", Gerasimov said, state-run media TASS News Agency reported.

The "rapid alert" about airspace spanning from Cyprus to Syria alerted airlines of the possibility of air-to-ground or cruise missile strikes and of possible disruptions to radio navigation equipment.
