Amber Alert issued for 7 year old girl

Hafza Hailey

Police in Oklahoma are searching for a woman who allegedly torched her home and stabbed her 11-year-old daughter on Monday before taking off with her 7-year-old daughter.

Ahmad is accused of binding and gagging her three daughters before she began stabbing the oldest, the 11-year-old who is in critical condition at a Tulsa hospital, police told the Tulsa World.

She said she broke free to call for help, but her mother had already fled the scene with her 7-year-old sister, Hafsa, by the time help arrived, according to police.

'The witness stated that earlier in the evening the mother had duct taped their hands put socks in their mouths and then stabbing the 11 year-old'.

Tulsa police announced early Tuesday afternoon that Taheerah Ahmad was arrested, almost 18 hours after she fled her home with her 7-year-old daughter, Hasfa Hayle - who also goes by Hafsa Hussein.

The same child told police that they managed to escape the home, reportedly with the help of the missing girl, to call for help.

Police were looking for Taheerah Ahmad and her 7-year-old daughter, and they issued the Amber alert because they believed the daughter was in danger. The middle child, meanwhile, found extended family at a home close by. The eldest child is in critical condition. MacKenzie said there was no known history of child abuse or domestic violence.

Tulsa Police said they found the woman in her vehicle near downtown Tulsa.

She added that Ahmad may be suffering from mental health or drug-related issues. Ahmad was taken in for questioning.

The 11-year-old who was stabbed several times was reportedly still unconscious as of Tuesday morning.
