Jaguars QB Blake Bortles Hailed for Helping Stop Truck Thief

Teen crashes Blake Bortles party because he couldn’t steal his truck cops

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles was picked without being on the field.

An uninvited guest crashed a Jacksonville Beach house party Wednesday night after trying to steal Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles' pickup truck, according to the Jacksonville Beach Police Department.

Seems a Florida high school student happened upon a Jacksonville Beach house party Wednesday night and chose to help himself to an unlocked-with-the-wallet-and-keys-inside Ford F-150, police told WJXT-TV.

Horton was unable to drive away, though. Amazingly enough, the teen was detained by Bortles, center Brandon Linder and guard Chris Reed at a function that was being held at Linder's home, according to TMZ Sports.

Bortles was attending a house party at teammate Brandon Linder's home when he noticed a man, Joseph Horton, that he didn't recognize. He instead entered the home, but police were called when no one knew who he was.

Surveillance footage at the home caught the thief on camera and allegedly shows the suspect taking Bortles' wallet and attempting to steal the auto. Bortles told police nothing appeared to have been taken. Bortles had his wallet stolen from his pickup truck in a freaky robbery at teammate Brandon Linder's home. However, he wasn't able to steal the truck because he was boxed in by other cars.

With his first plan having bitten the dust, police said Horton actually made his way into the house party, the station said, citing witnesses.

A few minutes later, Linder asked him who he was, the report said.
