Kristen Stewart rebels against Cannes' 'heels-only' policy

After strutting down the red carpet in a attractive silver dress, she stopped midway and removed her heels and chose to walk up the stairs barefoot.

The actress posed in a vintage Chanel silver skirt and top that she completed with a pair of sky-high black Christian Louboutin heels.

But just before she entered the screening, she slipped off her shoes and walked up the stairs barefooted. On Monday, the Twilight star took a barefooted step forward in the fight against the Cannes Film Festival's rumored high heels policy by slipping out of her stilettos on the red carpet. Although, she struggled to walk in the lavish dress and got her heel caught on the trail. Kristen has been previously vocal about the dress code.

"I feel like you can't ask people that any more - it's a given".

Although Stewart, who was a member of the film festival's jury this year, didn't confirm whether she removed her heels in protest of the French festival's rule forbidding women from wearing flats, it was assumed that she did it on goal as she has spoken in the past against the arcane dress code.

Big jump in JSW Steel net profit
Net profit at Rs 2879 crore has grown at 158.4% over average profit after tax of the previous four quarters of Rs 1,111.40 crore. The depletion in assets in any form will be a concern and we will certainly look into it whenever the process is completed".

The strict dress code at the Cannes red carpet that has been an issue of controversy has once again been challenged by Kristen Stewart. Another user tweeted, "Hooray for #KristenStewart taking off her high heels at Cannes, what a ludicrous rule!"

"If [a man and I] were walking the red carpet together and someone stopped me and said, 'Excuse me, young lady, you're not wearing heels".

Well, this year Kristen put her money where her mouth is and literally kicked off her heels in front of the world's media.

Kristen isn't the first actress to push-back against the red carpet rule though. Plus, as most other people who've rocked heels at an event before can understand, sometimes shoes get uncomfortable and are hard to move in.
