T.I.'s attorney, Steve Sadow, referred to him as "Tip" in a statement to WSB-TV.

Police say the rapper T.I. was arrested early Wednesday on disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and simple assault charges as he tried to enter his gated community outside Atlanta. He didn't have his key on him and argued with the security guard when he wasn't let in. The guard says the rapper was yelling profanity at him and behaving badly. "Alright, so I'm going to get back in here man and continue to kick it with my 10-year-old, you know what I'm saying, and my 2-year-old, and we're going to let god deal with the craziness, you know what I'm saying". When things escalated, T.I. called his friend, Marquinarius Holmes, 40, who was arrested on outstanding charges from Clayton County and for not having proof of vehicle insurance, the sheriff's office told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The guard was sound asleep when Tip arrived at the guardhouse.

Tip is planning to pursue legal action against his Homeowner's Association for the fight he had with the security guard and insists the guard was the aggressor. He says he demanded the guard's name, but the guy refused.

He added: 'The guard continued to refuse entry without justification.

T.I. tells TMZ. the guard at his gated community in Henry County, GA left out a lot of details when police arrived - like the fact he was sleeping at his post, and T.I. had to wake him up Wednesday around 4 AM.

Here is the full statement.

After T.I. parked his vehicle at his home, he walked back to try to get James' name, the report said.

Later Wednesday, the rapper told TheBlast.com that the county's law enforcement presence is basically "white cops in a very white area".

Sadow said T.I. identified himself and sought entry, but the guard refused.

A year ago, the rapper said he only planned to release about two or three more albums, telling The Associated Press in an interview that it was "definitely time to transition". But. he returned shortly after on foot to confront the security guard again, who then called the police.

"To see young people involved with something so important right now - that gives a sense of hope", T.I. said.
