Woman Mauled To Death By Pack Of Small Dogs, Police Investigating

Carter County Sheriff Chris Bryant said 52-year-old Tracy Garcia was killed near her home outside Ardmore, about 90 miles south of Oklahoma City. Six are believed to be standard dachshund and terrier mixes, while the remaining one is a standard dachshund border collie mix.

As first responders on the scene tried to help the woman, one of the dogs turned on them.

Bryant says the dogs each weighed less than 40 pounds (18 kilograms) and that they belonged to one of Garcia's neighbors.

Dinwiddie said all seven of the dogs were heavily infested with fleas and ticks, and it was clear that they had been living in wildlife for some time.

The dogs were young, and all ranged in age from about a year to three years, according to Dinwiddie.

When KFOR asked why these dogs were roaming free, Sheriff Bryant replied, "We're trying to figure out exactly. This is just a bad deal all the way around".

These items make visible the invisible spiritual effects of the sacrament, he said, noting how the white garment reminds us of St. Paul's words: "For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ".

Dinwiddie also said that four of the dogs were male, while the other three were female.

She added the dogs had "really noticeable characteristics like their knobby legs, knees, very short legged dogs and their coats".

"We were cleaning ticks off ourselves all day", Dinwiddie told KXII.

The vet's office who performed the euthanasia said the Sherriff's Office would not be performing rabies tests since the dogs are already deceased. The DA will then review the documents to determine if the dogs' owner will face charges.

Most recently, Garcia worked as a housekeeper at the Hilton Inn in Ardmore, Oklahoma, in order to support her family financially.
