Assassin’s Creed Leak Lists ‘Odyssey’ as Next Sequel

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey leaks: is this the sequel to Origins?

It looks like the next Assassin's Creed game may have leaked, following rumours that the follow-up to Origins could be heading to Ancient Greece.

[Original Story] The next entry in the Assassin's Creed series is apparently called Assassin's Creed Odyssey, according to an image circulating online.

The Assassin's Creed series used to be on an annualized release schedule, but Ubisoft took a year off after October 2015's Assassin's Creed Syndicate before launching Assassin's Creed Origins in October 2017.

Furthermore, the source reckons that Odyssey could be a direct sequel to Bayek's Egypt-set adventures in Assassin's Creed Origins, like Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Revelations following on from Assassin's Creed II with further appearances for Ezio Auditore. Origins did a lot of things that changed the status quo for Assassin's Creed, including reworked combat and the removal of a minimap. Ubisoft hasn't yet commented on the Odyssey reports, but given Schreier's credibility and the franchise's history of leaks, it's likely that these latest rumblings will pan out. At this time, it's unclear which manufacturer has marketing rights to the game.

Following this morning's leak of Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Kotaku confirmed that report and posted additional details about the game that they've been hearing from their own sources.
