Eoin Morgan's men went 1-0 up with a three-wicket win at the Oval. Will they double their advantage at Car

Reigning world champions Australia take on England in the second ODI at Cardiff on Saturday.

England fast bowler Liam Plunkett does "not feel sorry" for Australia as they continue to cope with the fall-out from the ball-tampering scandal that overshadowed their tour of South Africa.

It was the World champion's seventh defeat in eight ODIs.

Jos Buttler will have no qualms about captaining England again should he be asked to lead the side when they seek a series-clinching win over Australia at Trent Bridge on Tuesday.

With captain Eoin Morgan ruled out before the start of play with a back spasm, England needed Roy to come out firing and the opener responded with a century from 97 balls.

In response, the tourists were bowled out for 304 despite a magnificent 131 from Shaun Marsh - his first ODI ton since 2013 and highest score against a Test nation.

Saturday's 38-run loss in the second ODI in Cardiff left Australia 2-0 down in a five-match campaign against England, the world's number one-ranked side in this format.

Australia captain Tim Paine has said his side must deliver a "complete package" if they are to fight their way back into the one-day worldwide series against England.

They are without Billy Stanlake, who bowled nicely in taking 2 for 44 in the first ODI, due to a toe injury, while the seam-bowling allrounder Michael Neser has been dropped in favour of D'Arcy Short, who makes his ODI debut, and is expected to open the batting. Alongside another impactful performance from Liam Plunkett - whose brace of wickets in the 46th over finally snuffed out the chase - it ended up being reasonably comfortable for England.

The first rain break came when Roy was on 66 not out.

The extra responsibility did not appear to inhibit Buttler, who struck a typically blistering 91 not out in a total of 342 for eight that also featured a century from Jason Roy.

Early dismissal is an occupational hazard for all openers, and certainly for someone as attack-minded as Roy.

But next ball he was out when Tye took the edge and Paine held a superb one-handed catch as he dived to his left. England, though, staged a late comeback and after Plunkett's key wicket of Marsh, it was England's game through and through as the tail failed to pick the variations of Rashid and the rest.
