Costa Rica disappointed after Brazil defeat

After being fouled 10 times in the opening game against Switzerland, Neymar, perhaps unfairly criticized after that match for not being a team player, was once again targeted by defenders and spent more yet time with his face in the turf.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward was involved in a controversial incident in the second half when he was awarded a penalty, only for it to be overturned following a VAR intervention.

However, Neymar too joined Coutinho in the injury-time as he notched his first goal of the World Cup to hand Brazil 2-0 win over Costa Rica.

The PSG star collapsed to the ground and burst into tears while the rest of his team-mates celebrated.

Many thought they would steamroll Switzerland in their Group E opener, but the European side held out for a 1-1 draw.

The Costa Ricans lost their first group match 1-0 to Serbia. Replays showed there was minimal contact and Kuipers reversed his decision as Brazil's frustration reached fever pitch.

"You have to strengthen the team but I'm not going to take away the main characteristics of the players".

To cap off a fine evening for himself and for the team, the world's most expensive footballer of all time then went ahead and scored a tap-in to get his account up and running at the World Cup.

That daughter, Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari, congratulated Ardern on Twitter on Thursday. She said women often tended to be older when they entered politics.

"We know he had a hard injury, he went through a very bad patch", Coutinho said through a translator, referring to Neymar breaking a bone in his right foot four months ago.

Coutinho has been directly involved in four goals in his last four games for Brazil (three goals, one assist), as many as in his previous 14 combined for the national side. He set up the second goal for Neymar.

Neymar has since sent a message of encouragement to the Brazilian fans, who were depserate for a win after the draw against Switzerland. Silva was Brazil's captain four years ago, when he was criticized for breaking down before a penalty shootout in the round of 16.

"In my life things have never been easy, why would they be now?"

One soccer match that for reasons unknown I have been looking forward to is today's Group E match in which Brazil will be taking on Costa Rica.

In the FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation on Friday, Switzerland defeated Serbia 2-1, Nigeria outplayed Iceland 2-nil, while Brazil beat Costa Rica by a similar 2-nil margin.

Brazil's forward Neymar cries after scoring a goal during the Russian Federation 2018 World Cup Group E football match between Brazil and Costa Rica at the Saint Petersburg Stadium in Saint Petersburg.

A Jesus header came back off the woodwork, Coutinho's effort was diverted past the post by Gamboa and Navas tipped Neymar's shot over the top as Brazil turned the screw.
