Giuliani says he's counseled Trump against firing Sessions

Home Crime Trump’s Spygate Lies Get Smacked Down By Republican Leaders By Farron Cousins

Alberto Gonzales, one of Jeff Sessions predecessors as Attorney General, tells Alisyn Camerota on CNN's New Day that Donald Trump won't be able to push Sessions out of the job through passive-aggressive tweeting. "And that's how I read that - 'Senator Sessions, why didn't you tell me before I picked you?'"

Giuliani, President Trump's attorney, said he will not let Trump sit down for an interview with Special Counsel Robert Mueller - who is investigating Russian meddling in the USA election - without those documents being provided to Trump's legal team.

Amid news that President Donald Trump asked Attorney General Jeff Sessions to rethink his decision to step back from the Russian Federation investigation, MSNBC political analyst Jason Johnson argued that the former Alabama senator would never turn on the president.

Gowdy emphasized the goal was to find out about Russia's interference in the election, not to spy on Trump's campaign - the opposite of what Trump has said.

Despite the president's tweets, some political analysts doubt he would fire Sessions.

Gowdy said Sessions should have told Trump before accepting the job that he had a conflict of interest and would need to recuse himself from such investigations.

Giuliani said that if he were Sessions, he would demand to know from special counsel Robert Mueller the status of the probe and whether there is any reason Sessions should not oversee it.

LeBron James -- Faith in Cleveland Cavaliers shaken midseason
They still can surrender open shots everywhere, a flaw that seems fatal against the 3-point happy Rockets or Warriors . The Celtics have never lost a series they've led 2-0 - making it 36 and 37 straight with this year's first two rounds.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, has said that he will not schedule a confirmation hearing for another attorney general nominee if Sessions is fired.

The Times' report Tuesday also described Sessions as a "key witness" in the probe into whether Trump had attempted to obstruct justice.

Trump added the word 'hoax, ' and left out the radio host's caveat that the statement was merely his opinion.

"He's really the ideal person to talk to about this, because he's seen a lot of things that the rest of us have not see", Napolitano said of Gowdy.

Jason Chaffetz, the former Republican Congressman from Utah turned Fox News contributor, is adding to the chorus of those criticizing Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

President Trump says Deep State officials within the intelligence community were out to sabotage his presidential prospects, spying on him during the campaign. Mueller is investigating Russia's interference in the 2016 United States presidential election and whether members of Trump's campaign colluded with Russian Federation or attempted to obstruct justice.
