Little girl from Charleston shares big voice with 'America's Got Talent' judges

Courtney Hadwin at America’s Got Talent

It was a pleasant surprise when 13-year-old Courtney Hadwin started singing on America's Got Talent Tuesday night. "Bloody hell Courtney", Simon Cowell told her after her act.

The teen performed a high-octane version of Otis Redding's Hard to Handle - seemingly totally at odds with her shy demeanour just moments before.

With Hadwin headed straight through to the live shows, she's one step closer to that million-dollar prize.

In the audition, Courtney initially comes on stage and awkwardly answers judge Mel B's questions. "I am quiet and sticking to my own path", she says.

The schoolgirl was supporting music legends Sister Sledge at the annual event, which saw her manage to get the crowd on their feet during her energetic three-song set. "You're from a whole different era", said Howie Mandel.

Fate of massive AT&T-Time Warner merger in United States judge's hands
Distributors including cable, satellite and wireless carriers all see buying content companies as a way to add revenue. Amazon and Apple, which both have market caps bigger than every major media company combined, pose a similar problem.

"Thank you so much Howie Mandel I am so happy and can't thank you enough". Howie said as he hit the Golden Buzzer. Then he pressed the buzzer to catapult her aspirations forward.

Host Tyra Bank adds: "You were absolutely unbelievable".

America's Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC. She later tweeted saying it was "more than I ever could have dreamed of".

Courtney Hadwin has made it through to the next round of America's Got Talent.

In 2018, she was a finalist on The Voice Kids UK, airing on ITV in the United Kingtom.
