Man Utd bound Fred injured in Brazil training

GettyFred limped out of training for Brazil earlier this week

Brazil have been using Tottenham's training ground as their base ahead of flying out to Russian Federation - via their stop-off in Austria - and Real Madrid defender Marcelo also spoke to the press on Thursday afternoon.

Fred played no further part in the session and instantly received treatment.

Manchester United-bound Fred has suffered a World Cup injury scare after limping out of Brazil's training session on Thursday with an ankle injury. He also added that it was still too early to determine the extent of the injury.

"If tomorrow he continues in pain and some signal makes us more alert, we may need an imaging examination, but there is no strategy whether it will be here or in Austria".

'The negotiations were interesting, and, as I said earlier, we are fully satisfied with the agreement terms.

And the 25-year-old has not been deemed fit enough to start against Austria in Vienna on Sunday afternoon.

Reports indicate that United have made a £50 million+ investment in the Brazilian, so today's news from his country's global training session is extremely alarming to United and their fan base.

He has completed his United medical, although the transfer is yet to be formally completed.

Brazil kick off their World Cup campaign against Switzerland on Sunday night, before facing Costa Rica and Serbia over the course of June in what is a noticeably competitive Group E.
