Mohamed Salah joins Egypt training session

Salah responds to Ramos' comments about Champions League injury

A big question mark hangs over the participation of Liverpool striker Salah, who is still receiving treatment for the shoulder injury he suffered in the Champions League final.

The footage, courtesy of Egyptian newspaper Al-Masry Al-Youm , comes at a time when the signs had been looking hugely encouraging that Salah would be ready for the World Cup - and that he could even be in the starting XI for their first Group A game.

However, an AFP reporter saw the forward take part in his first training session since the injury, going through a range of warm-up exercises with his teammates.

Mohamed Salah appeared uncomfortable and eager to protect his injured shoulder as an Egypt fan attempted to claim a selfie with the Liverpool star. However, I can not confirm today that he will play in the first match.

However Egypt team doctor Mohamed Abou El-Ela placed some caution on any hopes Salah will play a part against Uruguay in their Group A opener this Friday.

However, his World Cup dreams were almost crushed after the Egyptian suffered a shoulder injury in that very final, following what many believe was dirty play by Real Madrid's defender Sergio Ramos.

On May 30, Egypt officials said Salah would be out for "not more" than three weeks, which would rule him out of the Uruguay match but put him in the frame for Russian Federation on June 19 and Saudi Arabia on June 25. So I thought to myself, I have quite a few games to play before the end of the season, I can break the all-time record!
