Oppo Find X: Everything you need to know

Oppo Find X: Everything you need to know

Unlike previously expected, the Find X has no notch. In reality there are two camera sensors on the front but only one of them which you can see, while the other is an infrared camera hidden under the glass of the camera module that is used for the O-Face facial recognition feature that helps the user unlock the device.

With the flagship smartphone, Oppo joins Chinese companies Huawei, Vivo and Xiaomi which recently introduced handsets with price tags of over Rs 30,000- a segment where Samsung, OnePlus and Apple are the top players in that order in India. Instead, Oppo went with 3D facial recognition tech that uses the phone's front-facing camera.

The Oppo Find X sports a 93.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, yet it doesn't have a display notch. Secondly, it has a screen-to-body ratio of 93.8 per cent, meaning it's yet another almost bezel-less phone.

Open up the camera app, and switch to the front facing camera though, and an 8MP (f/2.0) will gracefully rise from the top of the handset.

Underneath that large screen there are the usual bits and pieces - a Snapdragon 845 SoC married with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. On the rear, there is a dual-camera setup with 16MP f/2.0 primary sensor, and 20MP f/2.2 secondary sensor. For now, there's no information on what markets the phone will be available in - or what it'll cost - but we should know more in the coming weeks. Oppo has had a pretty strong presence in the country with its mid-range offerings, and it will be interesting to see whether the company will see a similar positive response towards the premium Find X. However, the glass body also makes the device fingerprint and smudge magnet.

US President Donald Trump digs in heels on disturbing immigration policy
Under the Obama administration, such families were usually referred for civil deportation proceedings, not requiring separation. He bragged about his poll numbers at one point, two attendees said. "Mexico does nothing for us", charged Trump.

Oppo is a massive smartphone maker in Europe, but its presence in Europe and North America has been extremely limited.

We're still waiting on Australian pricing and availability. During the launch event, the company says that the pop-up tests have been done to guarantee durability.

Other features include AI-enabled 3D cameras, hardware assisted face unlock system similar to iPhone X's Face ID, VOOC technology which enables the battery to fully charge in ultra-fast time, etc.

It is the same with the standard Find X, but decked out in Lamborghini styling. Oppo is calling them "Bordeaux Red" and "Glacier Blue", and saying they shimmer like a "precious gemstone". Powering the smartphone is a 3,730mAh battery under the rear panel.

There's also an Automobili Lamborghini special edition of the Find X that ships in a fancy packaging sporting a carbon-fiber effect on the back and OPPO's in-house Super VOOC charging technology, which uses a 50-watt wall adapter to bring the phone to a full charge in 35 minutes. The camera is also powered by AI assistance.
