Chelsea announce Conte departure

Alvaro Morata Chelsea F.C. Premier League

Reports all through Thursday, July, 12 said the Stamford Bridge outfit have terminated the contract of the 48-year-old after two years in charge.

Chelsea right back Davide Zappacosta could be on his way to Napoli as the Blues prepare to appoint the former Partenopei manager Maurizio Sarri as their new boss.

He's set to be appointed imminently after Chelsea confirmed the departure of Antonio Conte.

"During Antonio's time at the club, we won our sixth league title and eighth FA Cup".

But he was warned not to follow the title success with "a Mourinho season" in reference to their slump of 2015-16 when they finished 10th, a year after winning the league under the Portuguese.

Thai Boys in High Spirits Following Cave Rescue
He's got a very bouncy Australian accent and they [the rescued boys] seemed to find that quite relaxing and reassuring. Thank you so much to everyone that has been praying for us and the boys and helping us; thank you".

The former Juventus manager has been teetering on the brink at Stamford Bridge over the past few months but the Blues hadn't made an announcement about his future at the west London club.

Sarri guided Napoli to a finish of second in Serie A last season. All managers at Chelsea know that trophies but sometimes even that isn't enough as some have found out to their cost but ine thing we do know is that Sarri will do it his way, or the highway. Jorginho and Sarri together again?

Conte has been on the verge of an exit since the closing stages of the 2017-18 season, but due to a multitude of reasons, the club have dallied in making it official. Each of these three players, among others, thrived under the tutelage of Sarri and that will be fascinating for Chelsea fans heading into the new ere.

Incredibly the club have released a statement thanking Conte for his services to the club, but the message only consisted of 52 words.
