Dwayne Johnson Tells Stephen Colbert He's 'Absolutely' Considering A Presidential Run

Stephen Colbert interviewed Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson for the first time on Wednesday night and it was a very fun chat, filled with tequila, singing and more talk about the movie star's potential run for president. But ever since his entry into Hollywood, the star has been called his original name, Dwayne Johnson.

According to Johnson's longtime friend Hiram Garcia, the idea was never a publicity stunt, even when The Rock began floating it in the immediate aftermath of the 2016 election. "No, we haven't talked at all", Dwayne told host Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live after being quizzed on whether the pair had spoken yet. Colbert said, prompting the 46-year-old actor to reply: "I absolutely do, yes".

"Charlize Theron. She's great, she's bada-, she's smart and she's handsome and tough", he gushed of the Oscar victor. When asked which of his past co-stars he would select to be his running mate, he thought carefully before choosing Charlize Theron. "I believe, because I have an incredible amount of respect for public office, especially President of the United States, requires years of experience and skillset and sharpening skillset".

Gibson blamed Johnson on the ninth "Fast and Furious" movie being delayed.

The Sony release Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation is on track to debut with about $44.1 million in ticket sales in the US and Canada, topping the chart while outpacing Johnson and Universal's disaster movie Skyscraper, which will open with an estimated $25.5 million. So I said yes I would consider it.

Johnson also spoke briefly about a beef that's no longer burning: the one with fellow wrestler-turned-actor John Cena.

Also on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen", Johnson clarified his joke to ET's Kevin Frazier last week that he was the one to set up his "Baywatch" co-star, Priyanka Chopra, with his "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" co-star, Nick Jonas. With that in mind, I actually kind of liked "Skyscraper" and I think you may find a smile on your face while watching it as well.
