Emmys 2018 Nomination Snubs - Who Was Left Off List

2018 Emmys Michael Che Colin Jost

Glover lands four nominations including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for his work in FX's "Atlanta", which is this year's most-nominated comedy series with 16 nominations. Medfield's Uzo Aduba has been nominated for Supporting Actress for "Orange Is the New Black" three times (winning twice, in 2014 and 2015), while Wayland and West Roxbury's Taylor Schilling was nominated for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 2014.

The category is completed by "Westworld", Netflix's "The Crown", which finished on 13 nominations, and the streaming service's sci-fi series "Stranger Things" (12), as well as NBC's family drama "This is Us".

On the down side, the balloting felt unduly generous to a disjointed second season of HBO's "Westworld", which ranked behind only "Game of Thrones" - back in the race after a year hiatus - in terms of total nominations, tied with "Saturday Night Live", and followed by "The Handmaid's Tale".

Netflix is the most nominated network, with 112 - breaking a 17-year streak at the top for HBO. And among that basketful is yet another nomination for Dinklage, who just picked up another nod for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Tyrion during Season 7. HBO had 108 and NBC 78.

Amazon's original shows received 22 nominations, including The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel for the Best Comedy.

"I share this moment with my community", Oh said in a statement.

Among the notable first-time nominees: Issa Rae for "Insecure", Darren Criss, Ricky Martin and Penelope Cruz for "The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story", Tiffany Haddish for "Saturday Night Live", Letitia Wright for "Black Museum (Black Mirror)" and John Legend for "Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert".

But the scandal appeared not to have tainted much-admired Tony victor and Oscar nominee Laurie Metcalf, Roseanne's sister Jackie in the show, who picked up her eighth nomination.

The 2018 Golden Globe Awards will kick off on Sunday, Sept. 17, at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles.
