LeBron James agrees to sign with the Lakers

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

"LeBron James, four-time NBA MVP, three-time NBA Finals MVP, fourteen-time NBA All-Star, and two-time Olympic gold medalist has agreed to a four-year $154 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers", read the release from Klutch Sports.

James, 33, has shown little sign of slowing down despite accumulating thousands of regular season and playoff minutes.

Here are some of the Sixers options going forward. ESPN's Ramona Shelburne reported this week that James would not be seeking elaborate pitch meetings during the free-agency process.

It was proposed that the Lakers could be looking to form a superteam with James lining up alongside Paul George and Kawhi Leonard at the Staples Center.

This Summer of LeBron was barely a fling. Hoops Hype described some of the issues Los Angeles needs to address if James signs with the team.

A look at the latest news involving unrestricted free agent LeBron James. While there had been dialogue between Paul and Altman since the season ended, James had not given the team any sense of his plans.

Did Vladimir Putin phone call inspire Russian Federation to beat Spain?
In extra-time we did everything, again - kept the ball. "VAR is there to help, and the referee did not whistle it". Russian Federation will face the victor of Sunday's later last-16 match between Croatia and Denmark.

The Lakers have been quiet in free agency so far, and it's possible that gives the Sixers a better chance at landing James.

He'll now join a team that is full of young talent that could either grow around him, or be used in a trade to land another star.

Though Love's name is brought up in trade rumors almost every season, ESPN reported earlier this month that the Cavs would like to keep the former UCLA stand-out on the team, even if James decides to leave.

Now that some of the early dust has settled, the battle for him appears to be down to two teams: Cleveland vs. Los Angeles. The Sixers also have center Joel Embiid, 24, projected to become the game's next dominant big men.

The Lakers finally have the star they've waited for since Kobe Bryant's injury.

For now, though, he's not attached to anyone. Wright would respond to such comments, adding that Lebron's meeting is still happening and "isn't in conflict with what I just reported".
