Lyon president admits Liverpool could still sign Nabil Fekir this summer

Lyon star Nabil Fekir

Already, Liverpool fans are hoping that there will be movement on his transfer to the club now his tournament is over. But moving on from that, the tale looks like can get revived as the Lyon's president Jean Michael Aulas has dropped a big hint regarding the transfer and has kept doors open to their talisman's departure.

First up and Liverpool's transfer saga of the summer is rumbling on with Nabil Fekir's chances of a move to Anfield not over yet. "That is what I saw in the media, but I have not been informed", Aulas told French daily Le Progres. It still remains unclear whether Liverpool will go back in for the 24-year-old forward after the World Cup final today, where France face Croatia in Russian Federation at Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow.

"His transfer failed in June, but he has not been affected".

Liverpool are seeking to restructure their previous deal for Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir.

That said, having not played very many minutes in Russian Federation, 68 in 6 games to be exact, Lyon will not be able to charge more for him as his performances at the World Cup haven't made him a more attractive target.

"Maybe he will go to Liverpool or another club, but if he stays at Lyon, it will be a great year for him and us".

Liverpool signed Shaqiri to what is believed to be a five-year deal with the triggering his £13m release clause from Stoke. That's not particularly new as the Brazilian stopper has been linked with the Reds since Karius' Champions League final blunders but now reports in Italy have claimed that Liverpool have been in contact with his current club Roma to register their interest.
