Mike Malone reunion with Isaiah Thomas a result of ‘honest’ relationship

Isaiah Thomas Expresses Interest In Celtics Return

After a few days of inaction, the National Basketball Association free agent market is suddenly back in full swing.

The Nuggets have signed Isaiah Thomas to a one-year deal, according to ESPN.com, to reunite with Michael Malone, who coached him with the Kings.

Isaiah Thomas #7, then of the Los Angeles Lakers, looks to pass the ball during the game against the Orlando Magic at STAPLES Center on March 7, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. The Celtics reached the Eastern Conference Finals that year but a hip injury kept Thomas sidelined as LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and the Cavs advanced to the NBA Finals.

Isaiah Thomas started from the bottom, being picked dead last in the 2011 National Basketball Association draft. He's coming off a season in which he played in 15 games for the Cavaliers and in 17 games with the Lakers.

Before the injury, Thomas had developed into one of the game's elite scoring point guards, averaging 28.9 points in 2016-17 with the Celtics.

Maybe these posts had an effect as it was reported soon after that he had signed a one-year deal with the Denver Nuggets.

The report states the deal is for the league's veteran minimum. But questions remain regarding his long-term health. He likely will come off the bench in Denver, where he'll have a chance to be a lead scorer for the second unit, giving the Nuggets a boost when their starters are out. If Thomas can't prove healthy enough to be the whirling offensive force he was in Boston, how many teams would be willing to gamble on him again?
