Sacha Baron Cohen Responds to Sarah Palin in Character

Cohen poses at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards at the Royal Opera House in London

Sarah Palin then announced in a blog post that Cohen interviewed her while posing as a disabled veteran.

The details about the segment are pretty amusing: "Yeah, he started showing me these graphs and statistics that had typos in them and that just didn't quite look right".

"It just got worse and worse and worse as the minutes went on in this freaky, really humiliating interview", Palin added.

"Who Is America?" premieres Sunday on Showtime. "Out of respect for what I was led to believe would be a thoughtful discussion with someone who had served in uniform, I sat through a long "interview" full of Hollywoodism's disrespect and sarcasm-but finally had enough and literally, physically removed my mic and walked out, much to Cohen's chagrin".

Ruddick and Truthbrary.org may be partially inspired by right-wing news site the Drudge Report founder Matt Drudge, since in one of the brief character shots in the teaser Baron Cohen is wearing a straw hat of the kind favored by Drudge. "The disrespect of our USA military and middle-class Americans via Cohen's foreign commentaries under the guise of interview questions was perverse".

Cheney, who as vice president was a hawkish defender of harsh interrogation techniques, goes along with the request, autographing a gallon-sized plastic jug.

Former Alaska governor and GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin admitted recently to falling for Cohen's tricks. "They had given us fake names as to producers and anybody involved in the show".

"I did NOT say I was a War Vet", the letter reads. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the iconic broadcast journalist said he gave an interview with the same wheelchair-bound character who met with Palin, Dr. Billy Wayne Ruddick Jr.

Walsh alleges that Baron Cohen's team set him up in a Washington D.C. hotel in February to take part in a bogus pro-Israel event that bestowed him with an award for his "Significant Contributions to the State of Israel".

A Showtime spokesperson had no comment about Palin's latest interview when contacted by DailyMail.com.

Koppel says the pitch for the show was to have "ordinary folk interviewing the expert" - with Baron Cohen apparently posing as the former.

'He just, you know, he thinks this kind of stuff is amusing and mocking the disabled and mocking and belittling our vets with his portrayal, ' said an exasperated Palin. "Nobody can believe a word he's saying now as to his rebuttal".

Cohen responded to Palin's outrage and challenge in a sarcastic tweet Thursday that was made in the character of the interviewer.
