Trump to Meet with Queen Elizabeth II and Britain's PM Amid Protests

"But I'm going to a pretty hot spot right now with a lot of resignations".

"The people voted to break it up [Britain's ties with the EU]", Trump said.

"I partially won an election because of immigration", he said, also pointing to Italy's recent vote, in which Giuseppe Conte took government after campaigning on a populist anti-immigration platform.

"I think that's absolutely disgusting", Eugene Bibby, who runs a domestic appliance fix shop in Tommyfield Market in Oldham, told Fox News about the balloon. "I'd like to see them be able to work it out so it could go quickly, whatever they work out".

Asked about Trump's comments at a hastily-arranged meeting with journalists, May said she was delivering wishes of the British people.

On Friday evening, Trump and the First Lady whisk up to Scotland for a weekend of golf and relaxation - and more protests outside his resort.

Air Force One has landed at London Stansted Airport, where Trump is beginning a four-day visit to the country.

"We'll see where it leads", Trump said. This despite a trip choreography created to have him spend as little time as possible in London and keep him out of sight.

President Donald Trump's visit to Britain includes a gala dinner, tea with the queen and lunch with the prime minster, but his itinerary will keep him out of central London on Friday, when large protests are planned.

He added that it seemed as if the United Kingdom was "getting at least partially involved back with the European Union".

Lisa Murkowski is ‘annoyed’ with prejudging of Trump’s Supreme Court pick
On Tuesday's "PBS NewsHour", Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) stated, "I don't think anybody is going to overturn Roe v. Wade "is sent to the ash heap of history".

"This week we have an opportunity to deepen this unique trading relationship and begin discussions about how we will forge a strengthened, ambitious and future-proof trade partnership".

But Brexit champion Nigel Farage predicted there would be a "real clash" on Brexit.

"Maybe they're taking a little bit of a different route [on Brexit], so I don't know if that's what they voted for", he told a press conference after the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Brussels.

He will then travel to Helsinki for a summit with Russian president Vladimir Putin.

"We need to show the world what millions of people in this country think of the bigotry and the hatred that he represents", protest organizer Owen Jones said.

Many Britons are opposed to Trump's trip which is not the full state visit he was originally promised with the pomp and ceremony that entails.

That turmoil includes the resignations of May's Brexit and foreign ministers over her plan to retain close ties with the European Union after leaving the bloc in March.

His "America First" policies, including the decision to pull the US out of the Paris climate accord and the nuclear deal with Iran, also have brought him into conflict with Britain's leaders over substantive geopolitical issues.

On Friday, Trump will bypass the mass protests in London as he heads to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst with May for a military display, before talks at her country residence, Chequers. Trump will then meet the Queen at Windsor Castle.
