USA jury indicts 12 Russian ‘spies’ on charges of hacking Clinton’s computers

A dozen Russian intelligence officers were charged with indictment on Friday after their involvement in the hacking and leaking of emails of senior Democrats during the 2016 presidential election campaign.

Twelve Russian spies have been charged with running a sweeping hacking campaign to damage Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in the 2016 USA presidential election - with the indictment landing three days before Donald Trump is set to meet Vladimir Putin.

"All I can do is say, 'Did you?"' Trump said days ago at a news conference in Brussels. And a state lobbyist received stolen data on Democratic donors later that month, the indictment alleges. The White House seized on those points in a statement that offered no condemnation of Russian election interference. "There's no allegation that the conspiracy changed the vote count or affected any election result", Rosenstein said. "This is consistent with what we have been saying all along", White House Deputy Press Secretary Lindsay Walters said Friday.

Drew Fairweather, aka @drewtoothpaste, author of the webcomic ToothPaste For Dinner, tweeted a screenshot of a fake version of the document, which claims Russian operatives "used Guccifer 2.0 to "shit-post" over 16,000 times online".

The senators wrote there "must be other Americans in the room" at the meeting, where they also stated "Russia's attack on our election" should be a "top issue".

USA intelligence agencies have concluded that Putin personally ordered a campaign to undermine "public faith in the US democratic process" with the goal of hurting Clinton's candidacy and ultimately helping to elect Trump.

The indictments were unsealed just hours after Trump again referred to Mueller's inquiry as a "witch hunt" and after the president told reporters at a news conference with British Prime Minister Theresa May, "I think I would have a very good relationship with Putin if we spend time together".

In addition, someone at Wikileaks contacted Guccifer 2.0 before the Democratic National Convention asking for Clinton material, court papers show.

Two killed after boulder falls from truck, hits vehicle in Rosemount
Christiansen and her 32-year-old daughter, Jena Christiansen , who was in the front passenger seat, both died at the scene. Investigators were able to determine the truck belonged to Czeck Services, which led them to the driver.

Rosenstein told BBC that the defendants corresponded with several Americans during the conspiracy to manipulate the elections but there is no direct allegation that any United States citizen indulged in criminal activity.

On July 27, 2016, Trump famously said, "Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing".

Some of the state officials who run elections say it's important for Trump, a Republican, to take a tougher stance to avoid having the public's confidence in fair elections undermined.

The indictment released yesterday states: "The Conspirators spearphished individuals affiliated with the Clinton Campaign throughout the summer of 2016". Trump, hours before the indictment was made public, complained about the Russian Federation investigation hours, saying the "stupidity" was making it "very hard to do something with Russian Federation".

If the Russian Federation probe is a "witch hunt", then Robert Mueller is a goddamn Ghostbuster.

The names of the accused are Viktor Borisovich Netyksho, Boris Alekseyevich Antonov, Dmitriy Sergeyevich Badin, Ivan Sergeyevich Yermakov, Aleksey Viktorovich Lukashev, Sergey Aleksandrovich Morgachev, Nikolay Yuryevich Kozachek, Pavel Vyacheslavovich Yershov, Artem Andreyevich Malyshev, Aleksandr Vladimirovich Osadchuk, Aleksey Aleksandrovich Potemkin, and Anatoliy Sergeyevich Kovalev.

According to the indictment, the hackers also stole personal information of at least 500,000 voters and gained entry to a system involved with voter registration. The following month, he hacked into the computers of a USA vendor that supplied software used to verify voter registration information.
