Warner Bros responds to Bethesda's lawsuit over Westworld mobile game

Fallout 76

Moreover, contrary to Bethesda's baseless accusation, Warner Bros. says that they "at no time "induced" Behaviour to use the Fallout Shelter code in Westworld". Bethesda alleged that Behaviour had stolen code previously used in Fallout Shelter that was copyrighted by Bethesda. Taken aback by the apparent surprise of the lawsuit, Warner Bros. appears fully committed to defending their title against Bethesda's accusations.

Currently, the mobile game is still up for grabs for free on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store for Android users, so if you're interested in checking it out, you may want to download it before the suit proceeds any further. They are also the same developer whom Bethesda tapped to create Fallout Shelter.

Bethesda is reportedly suing to have the Westworld game shut down, but this response from Warner Bros. will certainly delay - or potentially stop - proceedings. The most apparent piece of evidence has been illustrated by a bug in the Westworld game that was evident in earlier versions of Fallout Shelter. Considering the similarities between the two games, Bethesda's claims don't seem baseless.

China eager to defuse trade pressures
In commodity markets, gold was seemingly no longer considered a safe haven by investors and hit its lowest in over six months. Losses were led by China, where Shenzen-listed blue chips sank 2.2 percent to stand a whisker above 13-month lows.

In the statment issued to GamesIndustry.biz, Warner Bros claimed that they had been "assured by the game developer, Behaviour Interactive, that Bethesda's allegations are untrue and that none of Bethesda's code was used in the Westworld game". Nevertheless, Warner Bros. shared a strong-worded response.

Shortly following its release, Bethesda filed a lawsuit against WB Games and Behaviour Interactive over their mobile Westworld game, based on the hit HBO series of the same name.
