10-Year-Old Clark Kent Shatters Phelps’ 100M Butterfly Record

"It wasn't like, 'I want to be better than Michael Phelps, ' or anything like that".

Clark now holds the record for the fastest 100-meter butterfly, which Phelps set back in 1995 with a time of 1:10:48.

Michael Phelps is excited for young Clark Kent Apuada to continue breaking his swimming records. Kent's main goal is to participate in the Olympics.

Apuada's time slashed over a second from Phelps' record, which had gone unbroken even as the competitive swimmer went on to win numerous Olympic medals.

The rising fifth grader has been swimming competitively for four years and targeted the event because of the chance to break Phelps' record, his mother Cynthia told the Huffington Post.

Phelps, who retired from swimming after the Rio Olympics, is the most successful and most decorated Olympian of all time, with a total of 28 medals - 23 of them gold.

We’re So Jealous of Meghan Markle’s First Birthday Present as a Royal
Meanwhile, Markle's estranged father, Thomas Markle , says he plans to send her a birthday card, whether she wants one or not. Yikes! What a royal diss - but she should probably spell Chrissy's name correctly if she expects her to ever see it.

"We're always just telling people his name is Clark".

"He does piano lessons, he does martial arts, and at school, if there's a computer class, coding, or STEM programs he's always joining", the proud dad said.

Clark doesn't think his work load is too much.

"I deal with it really well, I just have to balance", he said.

According to CBS Baltimore, he added: "I love swimming because I have a lot of people supporting me, and my coaches are always there for me and my parents are always there". "Always have fun and never give up on your dreams", Abuada told KION.

The boy, nicknamed "Superman", won every event he took part in at the meet and has his eyes set on competing at the Olympic in the coming years.
