Alexa can now notify users when it learns new things

Alexa's new

Amazon is set to roll out their latest feature "Answer Update" for Amazon Alexa users over the next week, which will inform them when the virtual assistant learns the answer to a previously asked question.

So while Amazon's Alexa is able to make some aspects of life easier, using voice commands to shop online just hasn't become a habit for most people, at least not yet. The skill will not be triggered "after listening to a news item or other information about a news item".

Meanwhile, most of the people continue using Google Home and Alexa to stream media, checking the weather, and operating connected smart devices. However, with the new Answer Update feature, Alexa will be able to answer those questions when it finally figures them out. Factor in the inability of a smart speaker to actually let users see the product in question or quickly browse through reviews, or the mechanics of switching between shipping and payment options, and ordering via voice suddenly doesn't sound all that great when users' money is on the line.

Diego Godin rejects United as Mourinho issues grim update
Any hope that Manchester United would sign Diego Godin on transfer deadline day didn't last very long at all. Though the Uruguay global was flattered by United's interest he has opted to stay at Atletico.

According to the reports, Alexa skill developer, Jo Jaquinta generally cites inculcating third-party skills into the smart assistant as a promotional means for brands, instead of direct sales strategy. The company plans to add deals on purchases like "voice only discounts".

"Clearly, voice shopping is not yet in the stage of being a mass market product", one of the sources said. The feature will be rolling out to Alexa-enabled devices over the course of this week, and users will be able to say "Alexa, turn on Answer Updates" in order to enable it.

Conclusively, the best tool to keep people glued to shopping from Amazon is a smartphone or a computer, which is already in the hands of the customers. In other words, Amazon could be pushing something that would make it a lot more money if not for the fact no one really wants to use it.
