Car Strikes Cyclists, Houses of Parliament Security Barrier: Armed Police Response

Cyclists were injured when the man drove his car into security barriers outside the House of Parliament

A CROWD of pedestrians has been injured after they were hit by a auto outside the British Houses of Parliament at Westminster in London.

Westminster is in lockdown after the silver vehicle is believed to have hit a number of people on Tuesday morning.

Scotland Yard said a man has been arrested.

A man was later seen being led away in handcuffs by police.

Sky's political correspondent Tom Parmenter said "the police response is very significant", with more officers arriving at the scene.

"The male driver of the auto was detained by officers at the scene".

Naby Keita starts for Liverpool in Premier League opener vs West Ham
Burnley were held to a goalless draw away against Southampton on Sunday with Joe Hart making several saves in his league debut. Those in charge at West Ham aren't the most silent of club owners. "We're going to try to keep the same level and keep going".

Ewalina Ochab, a witness, told the Press Association that the collision appeared to be deliberate.

Police said they could not immediately determine whether the incident was terrorism-related. I heard some noise and someone screamed.

Khalid Masood was then shot dead by armed police in that same courtyard.

Officers remain on the scene. "I turned around and I saw a silver auto driving very fast close to the railings, maybe even on the pavement". "We will issue further info when we have it", London's police force said in a statement on Twitter.

Security around London's Palace of Westminster, which houses both houses of the British Parliament, remains tight after a string of terror attacks in 2017.

The vehicle was seen at large security barriers which surround parliament and protect its buildings from traffic.
