Elon Musk proposes Los Angeles tunnel to Dodger Stadium

Elon Musk's company proposes 3.6-mile tunnel to Dodger Stadium

Traffic-weary baseball fans could someday travel to and from Dodger Stadium on a public transportation system underneath Los Angeles - if Elon Musk's latest bold plan comes to fruition.

Elon Musk has been in hot water recently, after announcing Tesla's purported share price in the event the firm is taken private.

Dubbed the "Dugout Loop", the project would transport fans from one of three existing subway stations to the stadium's parking lot on a zero-emissions electric "pod". Passengers would be transported on autonomous electric skates, each of which would carry between 8 and 16 people, traveling at 125-150 miles per hour. It will initially be limited to roughly 1,400 people per event, which could eventually be increased to 2,800 people per event, which is 5% of the Dodger Stadium capacity. The Boring Company plans to position a number of their carriages at one end and sell tickets with fixed departure times.

"This not only will solve traffic issues to and from the stadium, but it will give an economic boost to places around Dodger Stadium", Garcetti told ESPN.

Aretha Franklin, Queen Of Soul, Dies At 76
Elton John took to Instagram to say: "Her voice was unique, her piano playing underrated, she was one of my favourite pianists". The Iconic soul singer Franklin was reported to be "gravely ill" in recent week and her family gathered around her bedside.

According to Wired, Garcetti said on Wednesday that The Boring Company's Dodger Stadium tunnel, which will be called "The Dugout Loop", is a "great example of public-private partnership". The company estimates that construction of the required underground tunnel and two loop lifts will take no more than 14 months, but "likely much less".

The Boring Company also has proposed plans to build a tunnel connecting the downtown areas of Washington and Baltimore, delivering passengers in just 15 minutes, along with a tunnel connecting downtown Chicago with O'Hare International Airport.

In the proposal, the company said the project "will be 100 percent privately funded and will require zero taxpayer dollars". From the company's press release: "the Initial Study (IS) and Notice of Preparation (NOP) for the Dugout Loop process will be available for public review from August 16, 2018 to September 17, 2018".

Musk's aptly named Boring Co. will dig a 3.6-mile tunnel to the stadium, which fans have notoriously found hard to access.
