Facebook Removes Alex Jones And InfoWars Pages

Following the recent suspension of Alex Jones' Facebook page and the removal of InfoWars podcasts from Spotify, Facebook has permanently removed multiple InfoWars pages from its site while Apple has taken steps to remove InfoWars podcasts from its podcast directory.

One Infowars podcast remains on the platform: "Real News With David Knight".

Four of Alex Jones' pages have been removed from Facebook.

Apple has removed the American conspiracy theorist Alex Jones from its podcast directory, in the most significant move yet by a major technology company against the broadcaster.

"Apple does not tolerate hate speech, and we have clear guidelines that creators and developers must follow to ensure we provide a safe environment for all of our users".

Early Monday Spotify hardened its stance against Jones. Among the theories he has promoted is that the September 11, 2001, attacks on NY and Washington were staged by the government. The shooting killed 26 children and adults at the elementary school in CT.

Infowars did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Jones, who is the administrator of the pages, was placed on a 30-day block, Facebook said.

Upon review, we have taken it down for glorifying violence, which violates our graphic violence policy, and using dehumanizing language to describe people who are transgender, Muslims and immigrants, which violates our hate speech policies.
It also suspended the personal profile of Jones.

The pages include one for Jones' flagship radio show InfoWars as well as his fan page.

Charlotte Rae, Beloved Mrs. Garrett On ‘Facts Of Life,’ Dead At 92
She was married to composer John Strauss , with whom she had two sons. "No, no, no! If people had a positive experience with Mrs. Rae's big showbiz break came in 1978, when television producer Norman Lear cast her in the sitcom Diff'rent Strokes.

Among other claims, he has called the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting a hoax. The parents of two children shot in that attack are suing him for defamation, saying he had made "false, cruel, and unsafe assertions".

He now admits the shooting occurred but says his claims were free speech.

Jones has also claimed that the September 11, 2001 attacks on NY and Washington were staged by the USA government.

While running for president in 2015, Donald Trump told Jones his reputation was 'amazing'. Spotify took down several episodes of the show last week.

Spotify, which added Jones to its podcast offerings last month only to be met with widespread criticism and threats of a boycott, is also ending its relationship with Jones.

"Since then, more content from the same Pages has been reported to us", the blog post states.

Paul Joseph Watson, an editor-at-large for Infowars, said on Twitter that Facebook's move was "political censorship" and "a culture war".

Writer Greg Rucka tweeted: 'Really kinda appalled by Spotify carrying Alex Jones.
