Fitbit "Charge 3" Takes On Apple Watch

Fitbit

Additionally, the Fitbit Charge 3 comes with support for tracking over 15 exercises like cycling, swimming, running, weights and yoga. In a future update, you'll be able to track your ovulation directly from the Charge 3's screen rather than just from the app. The Charge 3 is waterproof to 5ATM meaning you can swim while it detects laps and your pace.

The fitness tracker also comes with an "inductive button", instead of a physical one, lending to the devices swimproof design and increased space for sensors and a seven-day battery life.

A rundown of what users can expect from the new device makes it sound like it's straddling the line between a fitness tracker and smartwatch, which can't help but be a good thing.

Fitbit launched Charge 3 on 20 August 2018.

Smart features will bring a broader range of functions to the Fitbit, allowing notifications from your calendar, texts and smartphone apps to be viewable on your wrist, as well as letting users accept or reject calls. Fitbit says it chose not to include Global Positioning System on the Charge 3 to improve the battery life from five days to seven days, and to keep the design as slim and lightweight as possible. It uses the PurePulse heart rate tracking to help users get a better idea of their sleep quality.

There's also a special-edition Charge 3 (£150) which is fitted with a NFC chip so you can use Fitbit Pay, although this isn't expected to ship until November and so far the only high-street bank that works with Fitbit Pay is Santander. The Charge 3 will allow users to track their menstrual cycle by having the wearer log their periods, giving women the ability stay on top of health issues that may arise.

Fed criticism drives dollar to eight-week low against yen
Trump has abandoned that tradition this year, though his advisers have said the president is simply stating his opinion. The Fed has increased raised interest rates twice this year and is expected to do so again next month.

Fitbit's Charge family is the most popular of Fitbit's product lineup, with 35 million devices sold to date.

Check out our hands-on review of the Fitbit Charge 3 here. The display is almost 40 percent larger than that in the Charge 2 as well as being brighter.

Unfortunately, the fitness tracker does not come with self-internet connectivity, which means if you want to use functions like Global Positioning System, you must have your phone close to the band. The new Fitbit Charge 3 is an upgrade from the two-year-old Fitbit Charge 2. The tracker is now available in black with a graphite aluminum case or blue gray with a rose gold aluminum case.

The Charge 3 is equipped with various new design traits that made it different from its predecessor. There's also an upgraded heart rate sensor and a new SpO2 (or oxygen saturation) sensor for the first time on a Charge device.

There are a few features that don't come with the Fitbit Charge 3.
