Rogic's Celtic crash out of Champions League

Craig Gordon is ready for a tough test against AEK Athens

AEK Athens and PAOK Thessaloniki gave Greek football fans plenty to cheer about as both clubs reached the Champions League playoff round and joined three former winners of Europe's elite club competition on Tuesday.

Brendan Rodgers' side headed to Greece knowing that they were up against it in the tie, with AEK Athens having managed to clinch a 1-1 draw in the first leg, netting a vital away goal in the process.

Brendan Rodgers side went behind inside the opening six minutes of the game when Rodrigo Galo met a cross in the box and side-footed it past Craig Gordon.

The Scottish Premiership champions will now be preparing for a Europa League play-off match against either Spartaks Jurmala or FK Suduva.

"The two seasons I've been here, we've qualified for the Champions League but it's been a step too far this season". "I've always said we needed to strengthen (in the transfer window) and hopefully we can do that now".

Fulham reportedly had a bid for Boyata rejected last week and his agent, Jacques Lichtenstein, was quoted by DH.be saying that as his client is in the final year of his contract, he could not risk playing when not 100 per cent fit.

England omit Stokes in unchanged squad for third test
The Durham all-rounder, 27, had denied the charge, relating to his involvement in a fracas in Bristol in September. Tony Miles, the solicitor for Mr Ali and Mr Hale, said: "Both our clients are delighted it's all over".

"We've got to stop the cross for the first and the second is poor defending", Rodgers said.

"What's going on is that I'm in a special position, and when I hear that I've refused to play since I came back from vacation, it's wrong".

"I still felt this was a game in which we had more than enough to win but you have to defend better than we did".

"But yes, Dedryck would have been fit to play".

"It's disappointing some of the comments of course but we'll deal with it internally".
