Ruby Rose Gets Emotional Talking About Being Cast as Batwoman

CW's Kate Kane with Ruby Rose will be DC's first LGBTQ character to make an on-screen debut

Rose wrote in a post on Instagram that she was "beyond thrilled" to be cast as Batwoman.

In an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she recalled her reaction: "I kept, like, spontaneously crying".

"The reason I kept getting so emotional is because growing up, watching TV, I never saw somebody on TV I could identify with-let alone a superhero", she said of playing Kate Kane, a proud lesbian who fights crime in Gotham under the Batwoman alias. Rose talked about what the role means to her by sharing her motto since she came into the entertainment industry: "Be the person you needed when you were younger".

While many people are happy about the CW bringing a lesbian superhero to television, but many in the Arrow-verse fandom aren't sold on the idea of Rose in the role quite yet. The first, an Oscar Wilde quote, is "Be yourself, because everyone else is taken". I'm not a guy; I don't really feel like a woman, but obviously I was born one. I kept thinking like what do I say, because everyone always says, 'So what have you got planned next?' And I kept thinking, either I'm going to put my foot in it and accidentally say something or I'm going to just start crying, and they're going to be like. she doesn't look so good.

Navas: "I have same desire to leave Real Madrid as to die"
Real Madrid also released a short statement of their own, which confirms that Kovacic will stay at Chelsea until June 30, 2019. The reporter kept the fact he had it private and now, seven years later, Courtois has got his dream move.

It also, Rose noted, will allow her to continue her charity work of visiting children in hospitals with a whole new persona.

The 32-year-old stunner said the show actually won't be her first time sporting bat wings.

Rose had been cast as Kate Kane, better known to comic book fans as Batwoman, earlier this week to appear in this December's upcoming Arrowverse crossover.

"But don't call her a hero yet", the press release continues.
