Twitter explodes as England crushed India

India vs England,England vs India,Virat Kohli

And welcome to our live blog of day four of the Lord's Test match.

India was all out for 130 in its second innings, barely improving on 107 in the first.

India captain Virat Kohli on Sky Sports: "I am not very proud of the way we played".

"The bowling unit were exceptional throughout the whole game", said Joe Root, the England captain.

Asked if the conditions had favoured the opposition, Kohli said, "We can't really think about those things".

Only once has a team come back to overturn a 2-0 deficit to win a Test series - and that was an Australia side that contained Donald Bradman in the 1936-37 Ashes.

This, in the form of the sublime bowling of the master craftsman in Jimmy Anderson and an all-round performance of considerable substance from Stokes replacement in Chris Woakes, was the flawless antidote to Bristol.

England had stretched their 250-run overnight lead to 289 before declaring as Chris Woakes walked off unbeaten on 137 in an innings which saw Sam Curran provide a highlight with a stunning six. He also shared an England record sixth-wicket stand against India of 189 with Jonny Bairstow (93). "A side like England, when they play like that, they can outplay anybody".

Bayern: Robben underlines Boateng's importance to club
But according to the Guardian , Boateng wants to win the Champions League again and doesn't think United are capable. Here's where United stand on their various defensive candidates with less than 24 hours to the deadline.

Man-of-the-match Woakes also had overall figures of four for 43.

He said: "We haven't been able to have partnerships, which is the basic rule while batting".

VVS Laxman, who has been quite active on Twitter in the recent past, hoped that Kohli and company will learn from the mistakes and put forth a much better performance in the third Test match.

"I was gutted when that rain arrived, " Broad said. It was Stuart Broad who got the big fish.

That left Anderson, fifth in the all-time Test standings, just 10 wickets behind Glenn McGrath's tally of 563 - the most by any paceman at this level, with the top three places all belonging to spinners. After 5-20 in India's first innings, Anderson got 4-23 in the second. However, James Anderson contributed equally returning with nine wickets in all.

After lunch, Ajinkya Rahane (13) was well caught by Keaton Jennings at third slip off Broad.

Now, after a narrow victory in a thrilling first Test at Edgbaston and a display of superiority here, England will head to one of their happiest hunting grounds in Trent Bridge confident of rapidly wrapping up this Specsavers series.

With the India captain hampered by his back, Broad forced him on to the back foot and kept him playing and missing outside off stump, before Kohli gloved the ball on to his hip and the catch was taken by Ollie Pope at a deepish short leg.
