Two Barcelona stars to join Premier League club after 'passing medicals'

Kurt Zouma of Stoke City in action during the Premier League match between Everton and Stoke City at Goodison Park

The Toffees were thought to have turned their attentions to other targets such as Chelsea's Kurt Zouma and Manchester United's Marcos Rojo as a result.

Chelsea have been linked with Martial all summer, but United have shown no willingness to let him go, especially to a fellow Premier League side. However, the Red Devils seem to have cooled their interest, preferring to focus more on the likes of Leicester City's Harry Maguire and Tottenham Hotspur's Toby Alderweireld.

Everton fans will be delighted to hear speculation that a third late addition could be that of Gomes, who has also been surplus to requirements at Barcelona.

Barcelona defender Yerry Mina is on the verge of completing a move to Everton after undergoing a medical in Spain, according to reports.

Mina is expected to be a permanent transfer while midfielder Gomes is likely to be a loan deal. "It's been a long, long saga has the Yerry Mina saga".

The 23-year-old Colombia global has also been touted as a target for Everton in recent days as the speculation about his future at Camp Nou continues.

It's claimed that Manchester United did make a move for Zouma, but Chelsea didn't want to strengthen a direct rival, and have subsequently chosen to send the Frenchman to Goodison Park instead. The Toffees take on newcomers, Wolves, in their first match of the 2018-19 Premier League season on Saturday, 11th August.
