Vimeo Removes Alex Jones, Infowars Content From Site, Issues Refund

Facebook

Twitter is now saying that some tweets from conspiracy theorist Alex Jones violated its rules. Jones has since resurfaced on Real.Video, a video site that promotes free speech. He called mainstream media "engines of censorship".

In light of Jones and InfoWars removal from Facebook, the New York Times revealed inside sources claiming Mark Zuckerberg originally didn't want Jones's content removed.

Twitter is refusing to ban Alex Jones and his InfoWars account, even though the service concedes he has violated the company's rules.

Dorsey will talk with NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt about InfoWars in an interview scheduled to air Wednesday night.

More interesting as well, perhaps, is that the trailer ends with a brand new shot of Morales admiring Spidey from afar. The studio is known for producing high-quality titles featuring excellent graphics, controls, and voice work.

InfoWars, Jones's right-wing conspiracy website, branded the "coordinated effort" a "purge" created to censor the site's provocative messages.

Users of the microblogging site have criticised the decision, arguing that Twitter is "protecting the hate, violence and bigotry" of Jones and his associated accounts. When Facebook, YouTube, and others made the choice to delete Alex Jones from their platform, Twitter chose to stand firm.

According to the BI, Alex Jones has become somewhat of a hot topic internally, at the video sharing platform's headquarters, with several employees upset that the conspiracy theorist's content was allowed to stay on company servers. However, it ended up deleting some of Jones' and Infowars' posts. Less than an hour after the CNN story went live, more than a dozen videos and tweets from Jones-affiliated Twitter accounts were removed.

Jones was also sued for defamation by the parents of two children who died in the 2012 Sandy Hook school massacre in CT in April. The videos, posted to the service on Thursday and Friday, violated the platform's rules. The spokesperson added that Twitter will continue reviewing flagged content and "take action as appropriate".
