Willian aims to stay at Chelsea and confirms bid from Barcelona

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri

Chelsea already rejected a bid for Willian from Barcelona and now the Italian manager has stated that the Belgian's future lies in his own hands.

Maurizio Sarri has praised Ross Barkley following Chelsea's 2-0 loss to Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday.

"The only club I knew that really made an official offer for me was Barcelona".

Courtois has been linked with a £31m move to Champions League holders Real Madrid to replace Keylor Navas. "If Courtois says the same, I have to speak with my club because I only want players with a high level of motivation".

As Sarri faced the media in Dublin on Wednesday after Chelsea's pre-season clash against Arsenal, he alarmingly admitted his team were "not physically prepared for the new season" before he addressed the question marks hovering over a host of star names.

And, despite being arguably Chelsea's best player over his 300-game stint so far, speculation has surrounded his future with constant links to Real Madrid following their sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus.

Chelsea vs. Manchester City - Football Match Report
Three weeks after the World Cup finished, the Premier League champions opened the new season by collecting more silverware. The chances of a keenly contested tie on Sunday look slim.

The goalkeeper's agent has said that he spoke to the club telling them that Courtois wanted to go to Real Madrid.

"My mother played football so I learned a lot from her", Jorginho told reporters.

"I want to hear from Courtois tomorrow".

I like what Jurgen Klopp has done by trying to strengthen the players behind the front three and get more goals from that area.

"I hope we can understand it quickly and can fight for all the titles", Luiz said. "If they decide to leave, I think we will continue with fantastic players". The West London club is now ineligible to play in the Champions League for the upcoming season and also fired manager Antonio Conte last month, bringing in former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri.
