Browns close to trading Josh Gordon to Patriots

49ers miss on Josh Gordon after Patriots trade with Browns

Gordon is set to be cut from Cleveland on Monday after he did not report to the Browns' facility on time Saturday. However, San Francisco's 2019 fifth-round pick went to Detroit in the Laken Tomlinson deal prior to last season.

Selected in the second round of the 2012 supplemental draft, Gordon has proven to be an exceptional talent - when he's on the field.

The final straw for Cleveland came by way of Gordon injuring his hamstring at a promotional photo shoot, per Rapoport.

Premier League Preview: Man City vs. Fulham
Andre Schurrle did threaten from distance but City goalkeeper Ederson tipped over. "City want me, so that's where I'll go". Leicester captain who not so long ago lifted the title, Wes Morgan got his marching orders midway in the second half.

But that was in 2013, and Gordon has played in just 11 games since because of his off-field issues. He'd been absent from the Browns since the beginning of training camp, reportedly to seek treatment for anxiety and mental health as he prepared to return from the latest of his series of suspensions under the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Active for Cleveland's Week 1 tie against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Gordon caught one of his three targets for a 17-yard touchdown. That year, Gordon caught 87 passes for 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns in just 14 games. However, the Browns have fielded calls from eight to 10 teams interested in making a deal for the controversial wideout and are reportedly looking to send him to the NFC if a suitable trade partner presents itself. Coleman has played in 19 National Football League games with 18 starts and has 56 receptions for 718 yards and five touchdowns. But just days later, things turned toward separation between the Browns and Gordon, who thanked the organization via an Instagram post.
