India calls off Swaraj-Qureshi meeting, says Imran Khan's 'true face' exposed

India reluctantly accepts Pak offer for engagement

India accepted Pakistan's offer of talks on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar told reporters on September 20.

Pakistan is slated to to host the SAARC Summit, but since Uri terror strike that killed 17 Indian army personnel in September 2016, New Delhi is leading the boycott of such a regional meet in Islamabad.

Following a letter from Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on the resumption of dialogue, the Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday confirmed a meeting between Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and her Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session in NY next week.

In response, India sent elite soldiers into Pakistan territory to destroy what it said were militant staging grounds, and Modi called Pakistan a "mothership of terrorism".

The meeting between Indian foreign minister Sushma Swaraj and Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in NY was scheduled after PM Khan proposed a meeting between the two ministers in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Perhaps the government realised much too late that it was going to celebrate the second anniversary of the "surgical strikes" against Pakistan on 29 September, three days after the two foreign ministers met in NY - perhaps the messaging to the world community would have been contradictory.

In a big development, the meet scheduled to take place between India and Pakistan in NY on the sidelines of the upcoming United Nations General Assembly has been cancelled, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Friday.

Regulator reveals iPhone Xs battery size, because Apple won't
The iPhone SE was Apple's last 4-inch iPhone, which featured the body of the iPhone 5S but the internals of an iPhone 6S. A new Pixel phone from Google is expected to arrive October 9 that might make Apple people jealous.

He said that Prime Minister Khan - in a letter - had responded to Modi in a positive way to resume peace talks.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi, however, rejected the Modi government's allegations and said that it is inappropriate to cancel talks under the media's pressure.

Pakistan denies aiding and abetting attacks in India including in Kashmir and says it is fighting militant groups for its own security.

"It seems that India is already preparing for its elections due in the country next year.Pakistan had asked for the talks in the larger interest of the region", the report further quoted him as saying. India has maintained that talks and terror do not go hand in hand.

India accused Pakistan of killing its policemen, without giving any details. We have also conveyed our position to the global community.

It has been India's long-standing demand to allow pilgrims enter Pakistan and visit the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib at Kartarpur in Narowal district.

A statement released on Friday by the Indian foreign ministry said the cancellation of talks followed the "latest brutal killings of our security personnel by Pakistan-based entities and the recent release of a series of twenty postage stamps by Pakistan glorifying a terrorist and terrorism".
