Trump orders 'immediate' declassification of FISA documents, DOJ-FBI texts

Former FBI lawyer Lisa Page leaves following an interview with lawmakers behind closed doors on Capitol Hill in Washington Friday

On Monday President Trump ordered intelligence agencies to declassify a mountain of Russian Federation documents and texts, including documents regarding the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant on Carter Page and texts from key players in the Russian Federation investigation.

U.S. President Donald Trump is raising the possibility he could order the declassification of more documents related to the investigation into Russia's election meddling.

"We're going to see", Trump told reporters Tuesday while meeting with his Polish counterpart at the White House, repeating his allegation that the investigation itself "is a witch hunt".

"The case should never have been allowed to be brought", Trump added.

And the No. 3 Republican in the House, Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise, tweeted that Trump made the right call.

He also highlighted a message from Strzok to Page, proposing to "lock in" an investigation right after Comey was sacked from the FBI.

He has said he believes he was politically targeted because he corroborated former FBI Director James Comey's claims that Trump tried to pressure Comey into killing the Russian Federation probe.

Antonio Brown missed meetings, film on Monday
That has you wondering that the tweet he sent out on Monday had a lot to do what he said on Monday when he responded to a troll. Meanwhile, as the news of Brown's absence broke, his Instagram played everything off like it was business as usual.

Fox News was told that the Carter Page surveillance warrant application it expected to be declassified first, and then the FBI's interview reports on Bruce Ohr.

Appearing on New Day, the House Democrat rebutted comments from his colleague, House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) - who has called it "laughable" to think the release of the documents endangers national security. "There will be no sources and methods being exposed here but what will be disclosed, the American people will find out that there was no basis for these FISA warrants", he said.

He said while there's nothing to prevent Trump from releasing the bulk of the information identified by the White House, he may face some problems releasing the Russia-related text messages because of the federal Privacy Act, which governs the type of personal information the government can make public. They're less willing to provide information.

The White House said Trump is taking this action out of a desire for "transparency", but former law enforcement and intelligence officials warned the directive threatens to expose sensitive sources and methods. Democrats weeks later released their own memo.

Carter Page, whose surveillance is at the heart of the June 2017 FISA application, praised the Trump administration's move, saying that the "American people deserve the truth about the criminal actions that were taken to undermine President Trump and our democratic processes".

Other materials covered by the order include FBI interviews of a senior Justice Department official and text messages of senior FBI leaders, including fired Director James Comey, involved in the investigation.

"It is especially unprecedented considering that the FISAs have already gone through declassification review and the president is overruling the judgments of his subordinates to require expanded disclosure".
