Donald Trump Likes Taylor Swift's Music "25 Percent Less" After Democrat Endorsements

Taylor Swift was criticized for not speaking out during the 2016 USA election, but she changed her tune over the weekend and endorsed the Democratic candidates in Tennessee's upcoming midterm election.

Republicans now have some bad blood with the star after a surprise endorsement on Instagram Sunday night for Tennessee Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Phil Bredesen and an argument against Republican candidate Marsha Blackburn.

Trump said Blackburn is a "tremendous woman", despite Swift's arguments against her. By comparison, the site registered 56,669 new voters registered the entire month of August and 190,178 in September.

While collecting the Artist of the Year award, Swift encouraged fans to vote in the upcoming midterm elections, as they did for her in the AMAs. In her post, Swift outlined the issues that drew her into the political arena after a lifetime spent determinedly outside it.

(According to Vote.org, there was a significant increase in new voter registration after Swift's post, but how much of that was due to the music star is unclear).

Swift was scheduled to open the 2018 American Music Awards on Tuesday evening with her first awards show performance in nearly three years, the show announced. "I'm sure Taylor Swift doesn't know anything about her", Trump told a pool of reporters.

Swift made her political statement very personal and using very specific language, which goes in tandem with the personal songs that she's made her brand, Hubbs added.

"These are not MY Tennessee values", Swift wrote. "I believe in the fight for LGBTQ rights, and that any form of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender is WRONG".

Mental Health Day: More people seek help, but stigma persists
Only 4 percent of the global health budget is allocated for mental illness in youth and children. Yet, those struggling with mental health problems are still being marginalised, ' Guterres said.

President Donald Trump, who has campaigned for Blackburn, dismissed Swift's opinion of the candidate.

"Vote.org saw [Tennessee] registrations spike specifically since Taylor's post", Guthrie said. "Happy voting", she wrote.

Bredesen, a former Tennessee governor, is facing Republican Representative Marsha Blackburn in what has become an extremely close race for the Senate seat being vacated by Republican Bob Corker. I believe that the systemic racism we still see in this country towards people of color is terrifying, sickening and prevalent. For a lot of us, we may never find a candidate or party with whom we agree 100% on every issue, but we have to vote anyway. The vote.org spokeswoman said, "Thank God for Taylor Swift".

Vote.org acknowledged it was not possible to measure the direct impact of Swift's move.

The Senate's 50-48 vote in favor of confirming Kavanaugh could have contributed to the bump, though Roll Call's Stuart Rothenberg cautions against leaning on that narrative through November.

Two years ago, Democrats turned million-dollar performances by pop icons such as Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Pharrell, Jennifer Lopez, Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga, Bon Jovi and Katy Perry into zero electoral votes.

On Monday, Trump tried to mobilize his own followers by retweeting a message indicating Tuesday was the deadline to register to vote in more than a dozen states.
