IOS 12.0.1 Officially Released with ‘Chargegate’ and Wi-Fi Bug Fixes

Josh Miller CNET

iOS 12.0.1, released today, promises to address that. After digging deeper, users also discovered that the iPhone XS sometimes joined Wi-Fi networks that were available in both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands in 2.4GHz even though the phones support 5GHz.

Apple has finally fixed the weird charging issues on its new iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max smartphones.

This update is a smaller one, as you might've guessed since it's an x.x.1 update, but there are still some notable bug fixes.

Apple's iOS 12.0.1 update "fixes an issue where some iPhone XS devices did not immediately charge when connected to a Lightning cable", reads the latest change log.

Other fixes address "issues where subtitles may not appear in some video apps", and "where Bluetooth could become unavailable".

Brees makes history in style, Saints thrash Redskins
It also took Brees fewer games than Manning to pass for 71,740 yards - Brees achieved the feat in 253 games compared to Manning's 266.

Additionally, iOS 12.0.1 also patches the security vulnerability discovered last week that may have allowed an attacker to bypass a passcode and view photos or contacts from the Lock screen using VoiceOver, according to Apple's security content page.

Apple iPad users will notice that the "123" number key on the tablet's virtual QWERTY keyboard is back at its pre-iOS 12 location.

It's worth noting that most of these bugs have been fixed in beta versions of iOS 12.1, though Apple has made a decision to squash them with a public release instead of waiting for that OS update to drop.

Your iPhone or iPad should automatically offer the new update, but you can also trigger it manually by heading into Settings, choosing General, and then Software Update.
