Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor declined to accept a trade offer from the Miami Heat for small forward Jimmy Butler that was centered on guard Josh Richardson and a protected first-round pick, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times. Part of the reason for Butler's frustration in Minnesota stemmed from the perceived "nonchalant" attitudes of young stars Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins, which seemingly came up again Wednesday in the practice.

ESPN reports that Butler yelled at teammates and front office people during the session, screaming at GM Scott Layden "You (bleeping) need me. You can't win without me", Butler reportedly screamed at Layden.

According to one source, Butler and a "team of third-stringers" beat the Wolves' starters in a scrimmage.

Butler's preferred trade destination is the Miami Heat, but talks between the two sides have broken down. Butler and his representatives have reportedly grown frustrated by how the Timberwolves have handled his trade request.
