The White House has not said when the visit will take place.

West has urged the black community to open their hearts to Trump instead of criticizing the president as a racist.

The White House confirmed on Tuesday a New York Times report that West plans to have lunch with the president.

Other topics of discussion will include prison reform, how to prevent gang violence and reducing violence in Chicago, Sanders said. West wanted to discuss the availability of job opportunities for former convicts.

The rapper has also urged NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, the first player to kneel during the pre-game national anthem in 2016, to "tell your experience directly" to Mr Trump. West grew up and recently said he planned to return, according to the person briefed in the meeting.

And his West Wing trip comes after wife Kim Kardashian West met Mr Trump there in May.

Just last week, Trump praised Kanye for his SNL performance after Kanye went on another pro-Trump rant after the show last week, saying he's "leading the charge" with his support.

West caused a stir after the season premiere of "SNL" on September 30 when he launched into a pro-Trump monologue while wearing a red "Make America great again" cap at the end of the show. You heard 'em, they scream at me, they bully me.

She captioned the clip: "I love you like Kanye loves Kanye".

"If someone inspires me, and I connect with them, I don't have to believe in all their policies", he said. They bully me. They bullied me backstage.
