New ‘Adventure Sync’ lets run Pokémon Go in the background, track stats

New Pokémon Go feature makes exercise enticing

This should prove to be a handy addition, particularly for hatching Eggs; previously, Pokemon Go only tracked your walking distance while the game was launched, so if you were trying to hatch a Pokemon, you'd need to leave it running as you walked. Now, it has revealed another new feature on the way to the game: Adventure Sync. Niantic is now introducing a feature called "Adventure Sync" which will count steps even when the phone is in your pocket. But, what about all of the other times you're out and about?

Exploring with Pokémon GO has never been easier with a new feature coming soon! Check in via your Trainer Profile to see the number of kilometers recorded for the week.

Pokemon GO developer Niantic has been adding lots of much-requested features to its game recently.

Europa League: Unai Emery reveals Arsenal squad for Sporting Lisbon clash
Arsenal have the chance to make it 11 consecutive wins on Thursday night when they travel to Portugal to take on Sporting CP. Arsenal manager Unai Emery: " Sporting are a very good team, with big experience and good players".

Thanks to Adventure Sync, the game integrates tightly with Google Fit and iOS HealthKit and works in the background.

Adventure Sync will also deliver a weekly summary to your app, showing you your candy progress and incubators. Trainers, according to Niantic, have made astounding gains when it comes to being motivated to walk more, and according to a survey of almost 2,000 players, 70 percent felt that the game had indeed pushed them to walk more overall, with 64 percent reporting that they felt more motivated to go outdoors because of the game. According to Niantic, there will be weekly milestones for walking that reward trainers for their efforts. Up to now, the only way for the app to track your steps, which was a crucial part of advancing gameplay, was with your phone awake and the app open (or use the Pokemon Go Plus tracker).
