Saudi Arabia denies killing of Kashoggi inside Turkey consulate

Saudi journalist 'killed in pre-planned murder at Istanbul consulate'

With about a week after the disappearance of prominent Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi at Saudi Arabia's consulate in Istanbul, his case is still shrouded in a veil of mystery.

The private DHA agency said the planes, which it identified as two Gulfstream jets belonging to a Riyadh-based company, landed at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport on the day Khashoggi vanished.

"The delegation is there to assist in the investigations regarding the disappearance of the Saudi citizen Jamal Khashoggi".

"In 2019, we will have more than 20 services that will be privatized, a lot of them in water, agriculture, energy and some of it in sports", the prince said in an interview with Bloomberg published on Friday.

"God willing, we will not be faced with a situation we do not want".

But Turkish police said they believe he was killed by a team of assassins who were sent to Istanbul and departed the same day.

Khashoggi had asked for a document needed to remarry in Turkey, Tamimi said, and the consular staff "were surprised and said, yes, we will do it for you, but there is no time, and they agreed he will come back on Tuesday".

The consulate rejected the claims that the journalist was killed there as "baseless", in a Twitter message.

"We would like to know exactly what happened inside the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance", said Mohamed Okad, a friend of Khashoggi and founder of Insight into Crisis, a conflict advisory group.

A United States official said that Turkish investigators believe Jamal Khashoggi was likely dismembered, removed in boxes and flown out of the country.

OnePlus 6T commercial availability to start end of October?
There are rumours that the OnePlus 6T will sport a 6.4-inch Optic AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Earlier, it was rumoured the phone would make its debut in India on October 17, but everything turned out to be false.

In a co-bylined article for The Guardian newspaper in May about the Saudi crown prince's diplomatic visit to the UK, Khashoggi said bin Salman had adopted a new form of extremism.

Khashoggi's criticism of Prince Mohammed's policies have appeared in both the Arab and Western press. "It's there since 1744, I believe more than 30 years before the United States of America", bin Salman told Bloomberg in an exclusive interview late Friday. Turkish officials say they believe Khashoggi is still inside the building, which they can not search without an invitation.

"His friends had warned him (Khashoggi), 'Do not go there, it is not safe, ' but he said they (the Saudis) could not do anything in Turkey", said Aktay.

The ambassador met with Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Önal, who conveyed Turkey's expectation of full cooperation from Saudi authorities in the investigation.

'Jamal was - or, as we hope, is - a committed, courageous journalist.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters he's closely following the investigation.

He added that the fund, with more than 50 percent of its investments located in Saudi Arabia, will be investing in more places next year.

Okda, speaking to the press outside of the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, accuses the Saudi crown prince of being "a killer" who "doesn't care about worldwide justice".

Saudi Oil Minister Khalid Al-Falih said in August that Saudi Arabia would go ahead with the IPO "at a time of its own choosing when conditions are optimum". His foreign policy moves have been extremely aggressive, including his military support of the government in Yemen against Iranian-backed Houthi rebels and nearly going to war with Qatar due to their support of the Iranian regime.

Saudi Arabia, which ranks 169th out of 180 on RSF's World Press Freedom Index, has launched a modernization campaign since Prince Mohammed's appointment as heir to the throne. Human and women's rights activists, intellectuals and clerics have been arrested - meanwhile, Saudi Arabia is waging a war in Yemen that has triggered a humanitarian crisis.
