Selena Gomez Has Been Hospitalised After Suffering "Emotional Breakdown"

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez is now seeking mental health treatment after reportedly suffering an emotional breakdown.

Selena was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA twice in the last two weeks to monitor her blood cell count, the website reports. She was released from the hospital after a few days, but had to be re-admitted after the symptoms persisted.

The troubled singer reportedly checked into a facility on the east coast where she is undergoing dialectical behaviour therapy, which treats mental health disorders.

When doctors refused to let her leave for a second time, she is alleged to have "freaked out" and "tried to rip the IV's out of her arm".

She also visited Lovato in the hospital before her own downward spiral began again.

"She realized she needed to seek additional help for her ongoing emotional issues. She's doing better now and is seeking treatment on the East Coast", a source told PEOPLE. After suffering from apparent mental breakdown, the singer, who underwent kidney transplant past year, is presently being treated at a mental facility. She's surrounded by close family and has a lot of support.

The Heart Wants What It Wants hitmaker announced on September 24 that she was taking a break from social media.

Before leaving social media, Selena did an Instagram Live answering questions from fans and said depression had consumed her life for 5 years.

In addition to still being anxious about her best friend, the source told Radar tonight, she is still reeling over ex-boyfriend Bieber's quickie engagement and marriage to Hailey Baldwin just months after their split. Just remember - negative comments can hurt anybody's feelings.
