Severe punishment! United States warns Saudi Arabia over mysterious death of journalist

Companies cut ties with Saudi Arabia over Jamal Khashoggi's disappearance

Analysts say that Turkey is hoping to find support from its North Atlantic Treaty Organisation ally the United States in the case, although Ankara and Washington have been in crisis over the detention for the last two years of a Protestant pastor. But he says he has not discussed Khashoggi with Saudi King Salman as he said Friday he would do. Widely broadcast video shows the 59-year-old writer and Washington Post contributor entering the consulate on Tuesday of last week, but there is none showing him leaving.

The Saudi delegation, whose composition was not immediately clear, is expected to meet with Turkish officials in Ankara at the weekend, state media said on Friday.

A demonstrator holds picture of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi during a protest in front of Saudi Arabia's consulate in Istanbul, Turkey.

Earlier this month, Trump suggested Saudi Arabia's king "might not be there for two weeks" without USA military support.

On Oct. 6, the Consul General of Saudi Arabia Mohammad al-Otaibi conducted an interview with Reuters during which he said "the consulate and the embassy are working to search for him".

Jamal Khashoggi has not been seen since last week.

For example, in one report it claimed that Saudi Crown Prince Mohamdad bin Salman has called Jared Kushner, senior advisor to the United States president.

But, he has told CBS' "60 Minutes", "Could it be them?"

However, the de-facto Saudi ruler's regime has also been linked to the suspected killing of the government critic at the consulate in Istanbul on Tuesday.

Tsunami waves possible after magnitude-7 earthquake strikes east of PNG
Strong earthquakes struck parts Indonesia , Papua New Guinea , and Russian Federation mere hours apart this morning. It earlier warned that waves up to about 30 centimetres were possible within 300 kilometres of the epicentre.

"You can hear his voice and the voices of the men speaking Arabic", a separate source told the Post, which employed Mr Khashoggi as a contributing columnist.

He says "we're going to get to the bottom of it and there will be severe punishment". There are other ways of punishing'.

Khashoggi has not been seen since entering the consulate.

Upon noticing the watch, Khashoggi's assailants tried to unlock the Apple Watch with multiple password attempts, ultimately using the journalist's fingerprint to unlock the smart watch.

"Yes", Trump said in the interview, which was conducted on Thursday, when asked if Khashoggi was murdered by Saudi Arabia.

The statement did not directly acknowledge Khashoggi's disappearance, which happened October 2 when he visited the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul.

Turkey's foreign minister, Mevut Cavusoglu, said Saudi Arabia was not yet co-operating with the investigation - despite a statement from Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz saying they wanted to uncover "the whole truth".

Turkish officials have said they believe he was murdered there.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for his part, described the Saudi government's comments as unconvincing and urged Riyadh to prove that they have nothing to do with the incident.
