Trump vows 'severe punishment' for Saudi Arabia if Khashoggi was killed

Reports: Saudi Journalist May Have Recorded His Own Death

US President Donald Trump threatened Riyadh on Saturday with "severe punishment" if a journalist was killed inside its Istanbul consulate, as Saudi officials were to hold talks in Turkey about his fate.

The prime minister also says Canada has "serious issues" around reports about the disappearance of US journalist Jamal Khashoggi, although he says there is still more to learn before he'll comment further.

Rumor mills churned out one of their most childish pieces of fake news that investigators were looking for Khashoggi's black Apple Watch with reported recordings.

CCTV allegedly shows Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi (right) entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, before he vanished.

A Turkish security source has told the BBC that officials had audio and video evidence proving Mr Khashoggi, who writes for the Washington Post, was murdered inside the consulate.

Turkish officials say they believe a 15-member Saudi "assassination squad" killed Khashoggi at the consulate.

"The moments when Khashoggi was interrogated, tortured and murdered were recorded in the Apple watch's memory", it added.

The report in the pro-government Sabah daily, which could not immediately be verified, emerged after a delegation from Saudi Arabia arrived in Turkey for a joint investigation into his disappearance.

Trump said he did not want to block military sales to Saudi Arabia, one option that has rattled U.S. defense contractors, saying, "I don't want to hurt jobs".

The kingdom has said it had nothing to do with Mr Khashoggi's disappearance.

Google launches connected speaker with screen, but no camera
The smartphone has a improved smartphone, screen and the ability to avoid spam calls by screening who is calling a device. Google's is a bit smaller though, with a seven-inch display where Lenovo's comes in eight and 10 inches.

International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde said on Saturday she was "horrified" by reports about the Saudi dissident's fate, while US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin expressed "concern".

Trump made the comments in an interview for CBS News on Saturday and said there was much at stake with the case, "maybe especially so" because Khashoggi was a reporter.

He also stressed that what has been circulating about orders to kill Khashoggi are lies and baseless allegations against the government of the Kingdom, which is committed to its principles, rules and traditions and is in compliance with worldwide laws and conventions.

Turkey's foreign minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu called for Riyadh to allow Turkish officials into the consulate.

But while Trump is planning on going ahead with his deal, Congress has some tough words for him.

The gadget transmitted the audio to his iPhone which was in the hands of his fiancee, Hatice Cengiz, 36, who is said to have listened in horror as she waited outside.

Perhaps the most under-the-bullseye in this ugly story is Jared Kushner, who has played host to Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman.

So is Saudi Arabia.

I don't like the concept of stopping an investment of $110 billion into the United States, because you know what they're going to do?

The Saudi Government issued a statement condemning and denouncing "the false accusations circulated in media reports on the Saudi Government and other people in the purported relation to the disappearance" of Khashoggi.
