'Very sad thing' if Saudi crown prince involved in journalist's disappearance

The image taken from Turkey's Daily Sabah shows 15 Saudi operatives suspected of having killed Kamal Khashoggi upon his arrival at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul

A team of investigators is preparing to go into the consulate, where Khashoggi was last seen entering nine days ago, a Turkish security official told Reuters.

WWE's continued business in Saudi Arabia remains a hot-button topic in professional wrestling, particularly with Crown Jewel (2 November) right around the corner, and PWTorch.com's Wade Keller has this week highlighted a damning new Washington Post article on current USA/Saudi relations.

He declined to comment on Khashoggi's possible fate, but said "we can not let this happen; to reporters, to anybody".

"We have seen conflicting reports on the safety and whereabouts of prominent Saudi journalist and Washington Post contributor Jamal Khashoggi", Pompeo said in a statement.

Trump told reporters at the White House that he talked with the kingdom's leaders "more than once" since Khashoggi, a U.S. resident and Washington Post contributor, disappeared on Tuesday after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

Erdogan told reporters on a flight back from Hungary that Turkey is anxious about the Khashoggi's disappearance.

On Tuesday, footage and identities of the "assassination" squad were made public.

Almost two hours later, the video shows two vehicles with diplomatic plates -a luxury black sedan and a black Mercedes VITO van- leave through the police barricades outside the consulate.

Saudi officials offered to allow Turkey to search the premises of the consulate in Istanbul.

State-run broadcaster TRT aired video purportedly showing the Saudis arriving by private jet and then leaving a hotel.

Windies Struggling After Day 1 Of First Test Against India
Shifting from his usual style, Kohli was more flexible in adapting to the game, making changes as per the situation demanded. Meanwhile, India will be looking to continue their winning momentum in the second Test.

He also questioned assertions by Saudi authorities that the consulate does not have footage of Khashoggi leaving the building as the mission's security cameras only provide live footage and do not record images.

Although Khashoggi knew that his opinions had angered certain people, he entered the consulate "without doubting he would be safe there", his fiancee wrote, but after three hours of waiting "fear and concern" overcame her.

The pro-government newspaper - "Sabah", owned by the Turkish finance minister - published the names of the 15 Saudis, accompanied by still images from CCTV.

The Saudi ambassador to Turkey was summoned to the ministry to request Riyadh's cooperation in the investigation, a Turkish official said.

On Thursday, Turkey's official Anadolu news agency reported a Turkish official as saying that Ankara and Riyadh will form a joint group to look into the case.

So the Turks are giving the Saudis a little breathing room to put forward their argument, while releasing bits of incriminating information to tighten the screws. "I've told them they have to pay for their military".

Jamal Khashoggi, 59, has not been heard from his fiance nor coworkers after his disappearance on October 2. "Is that in jeopardy now, our good relations with Saudi Arabia?" Both aircraft later returned to Riyadh with one stopping in Dubai and the other in Egypt, it was claimed. It's video evidence, photos and intelligence against a claim of innocence so far not backed up.

The Washington Post reported that United States intelligence had intercepted communications of Saudi plans to kidnap Khashoggi, a critic of the kingdom and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman who fled into exile a year ago.

Cases included that of Saleh al-Shihi, a journalist whose arrest was only confirmed in February when his family learned he had been sentenced to five years in prison, RSF said.

Saudi Arabia has repeatedly insisted that the allegations from Turkey are "baseless" and Mr Trump has been reluctant to criticise the regime, describing their relationship as "excellent".
